Questions We Get a Lot

NVR (Network Video Recorder) systems work with IP cameras and process video data directly at the camera, typically delivering sharper image quality and greater flexibility for camera placement. DVR (Digital Video Recorder) systems use analog cameras and process footage at the recorder itself, making them a reliable and cost-effective choice for straightforward wired setups. Both system types are represented in our collection, so you can choose the architecture that best fits your property and technical preferences.

Wired security systems do require running cables between cameras and your recorder, which involves more planning than a wireless setup. Most homeowners with basic DIY experience find the process manageable by following the included documentation and general guidance available from the manufacturers. If your installation involves attic access, conduit, or complex routing, you may want to engage a local electrician or AV installer to handle the physical cable work.

Storage needs depend on the number of cameras, recording resolution, and whether you record continuously or only on motion detection. As a general rule, higher-resolution systems like 4K and 5MP cameras consume more storage per hour per camera than standard HD systems. The systems in our collection include pre-configured HDD capacities ranging from 1TB to 3TB, which are sized to provide meaningful continuous recording time for their respective camera counts and resolutions.

We offer 30-Day Returns from the date of delivery. For change-of-mind returns on non-defective items, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility and a 25% restocking fee applies to approved returns. If your item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, please report it within 7 days of delivery and we will cover return shipping with no restocking fee applied — refer to our Return Policy for full details.

About Our Security Camera Systems

Home security camera systems are purpose-built surveillance solutions designed to give homeowners continuous, reliable visibility over their property — indoors and out. Unlike basic consumer cameras, full security systems combine dedicated recording hardware, local storage, and multiple camera units into a cohesive network that operates independently of third-party cloud subscriptions. These systems are built for homeowners who want dependable, long-term coverage without relying on an internet connection for every function. When evaluating a security camera system, consider the recording resolution your property requires, the number of cameras needed to cover blind spots and entry points, and the type of recorder — NVR or DVR — that suits your infrastructure. Storage capacity is equally important: continuous high-resolution recording across multiple cameras consumes significant drive space, so matching HDD size to your camera count and resolution prevents gaps in footage. Weather resistance ratings, night vision range, and wired versus wireless architecture are additional factors that separate systems built for serious residential security from general-purpose alternatives. A well-chosen system is a long-term investment in property protection and peace of mind.
